It is now possible, even for retired people, to enhance their pensions by buying NI credits: one client could spend £1,976 and enhance her weekly pension by £14.64.
Even at this level she would only have to live for 135 weeks to get her money back.
It is also possible to purchase credits back to 75/76 if you're due to retire before April 2005.
